As mocon31 says, Victoria Park was not Council land. It was only managed by Council as trustee to the Queensland Government under a Deed of Grant in
Trust (DOGIT).

The change that occurred was that the State Government extinguished the Deed of Grant, taking over the management of the land and transferred the majority of it to GIICA for the purpose of building the stadium and associated infrastructure.

The Bradfield Highway (NSW) isn’t in Western Sydney - it’s the road that runs over the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

I didn’t mean it that literally, just that they have thrown a lot of money at stuff in/near Bradfield in Western Sydney.
