Bus Reform & Crosstown Services (incl. GCL)

As a local the 326, and 327 services would be amazing if they had some rerouting and ran at high frequency’s. Along with a service from Sandgate to Strathpine like the ones going up to the Peninsula.

I mentioned this over in the On the Network thread, but I’d love to see a frequency increase on the 590, and a slight tweak of the route to service either Cannon Hill or Murarrie Train Station, rather than going halfway between both of them. I think it is quite a useful cross town route.

I also strongly believe that the GCL should be stopping at Skygate - it’s a major shopping centre and the GCL goes close enough for it to be visible from the bus, but despite this, the closest stop to it that it services is East West Arterial @ Nudgee Road - only a few hundred metres away as the crow flies, but its a trek of a few kilometres to get across the roads there.

An idea worth considering for whenever they start reviewing the northside bus network.

It would be good to have an ideal network map that’s BTQ endorsed

Where on the northside needs more buses? Commuters have their say, with review planned

New bus routes to surrounding suburbs and more frequent city services are wanted by public transport passengers in Chermside.

This masthead spoke to commuters as the Brisbane City Council recommitted this week to a promised review of the transport network.

LNP councillor Steve Toomey suggested on Tuesday the promised review was no longer being done after a new government agreement was signed, but he later clarified an equivalent review would be done, alongside future Metro expansion.
