Sounds like theyâre waiting for some articulated TMR buses. Council isnât acquiring any new vehicles atp.

Last I heard that one was meant to be going to Kinetic Sunshine Coast⌠wonder why itâs sitting in a carpark in Capalaba.
Thatâs 1277 for you! They have accreditation code Q100580 assigned at the back so theyâre definitely going to Molendinar, GC.
On that topic: 1270 and 1271 have been put online just today as well.

Is there any news on this? Weâre at probably around 280 of TMRâs original two orders (total of 365 buses?), if the artics have been slapped on the end it seems like theyâre still a while off.

Council was meant to recieve some at the start of this year according to meeting minutes last year. No news sinceâŚ
The TMR fleet will be 277 buses.
1 to 75 are various electrics and potentially 2 ethanol buses that were at Mackay - nobody has a breakdown for these as far as I know.
76 and 77 are hydrogen buses at CDC.
78-242 (165 total) are Volvos, the whereabouts of all of which are known except apparently 242.
243-254 (12 total) are Scanias with Bustech bodies not yet in service.
255-277 (23) are Scanias with Volgren bodies, 17 of which are on the Gold Coast with the rest to follow.
All 35 Scanias were meant to be Bustechs but their ongoing difficulties resulted in the current split.
The plan was about 400 electrics next, but the present mob running the State are luddites and that appears to be going nowhere with the focus being on drillingâŚ
Now in the LNPâs defence, Qld wouldnât have to worry about all these extra buses if everyone just stopped taking the bus and drove everywhere, powered by Queenslandâs clean oil fields.
Besides, why settle for Net Zero when we can Target 400 (degrees Celsius by 2040).
Kinetic SC appear to be getting Volvo/Volgrenâs - I think that batch is separate from the TMR lot.
I remember reading that on the Bus Australia forum last year but weâre getting to June and nothing has happened, apart from the few MAN VSTs transferred from Coomera (930, 933-937) and Molendinar (945-954).
Hell, 400 (the lone B8RLE VST on the Goldy) got repainted after months of being out of action and is now firmly staying at Coomera.
If weâre already at #277 (as per Lottâs photo) and there really are no more in the pipeline as part of the ârail busâ build, it does beg the question as to whatâs next⌠are the artics already under construction? Have they even been funded yet?
Interested to see what TfB will do as well. Initially I thought all operators would lease from TMR from now on but Clarks, Caboolture Bus Lines and Kangaroo (among probably some others) have seemingly all sourced their own new units in the last 12 months⌠admittedly all to the same spec as the TMR units but still.
Thereâs apparently a few at Volgren at the moment, so they wonât be too far off.
what does shoulder peak crowd mean? i had never encountered this term. apologies if this is off-topic.
Basically the ramp up and down in demand on any given peak period. Think 8-9am, 2-3pm and 6-7pm.
From CR Paul Jacksonâs FB page. New bus stops being installed. Is this the first time weâve seen bus stop decals use the new Translink logo?
There are a few around now but definitely still pretty rare!
Interesting that these donât have the City of Ipswich branding on them, I thought bus stops usually carry the translink logo and then the local council too (if Council have been involved in constructing or funding).
On the Gold Coast for example, council seem to play a bigger role in building and maintaining bus stops so a fair few stops just have the City of Gold Coast branding. On the Sunshine Coast many stops are co-branded with one panel having councilâs logo and the other having translink (either new or old), I have only seen a handful of these translink only bus shelters, usually at train stations where councils havenât been involved in building them.
Logos aside though itâs good to see more full shelters being installed - the basic bus stops that are just a concrete slab with no seating or shade should become a relic of the past.

On the topic of Ipswich logos on bus stops though, I donât recall ever seeing the ICC logo on any of this style of shelter. Iâll have to look at every bus stop I go past today now..
