Disruption Management (Events, Planned Closures, Track Work, etc...)

The scary part about the ngrs still being fully available is yhe union is effectively proving that privatisation will be the solution to this, when in reality we all know that would be a worse outcome for all.

It’s a win-loss situation
Win as well… we get trains. Sure we’re packed like sardines, but we still technically have trains
But a lose as we don’t have enough NGRs to sustain the network on them and that its showing Mickelberg that he can privatise it which is a bad idea long term

An LNP excuse to cut services and defund transit. We all know these so called ‘temporary cuts’ will somehow end up becoming permanent. Mass layoffs will be happening soon at Queensland rail. And then when cross river rail happens, we will have a rail fail just like that stuff up when the Redcliffe Peninsula line opened.

oh and it will only be a matter of time until they try to dump 50c fares and privatise the entire network

Remember how we all said LNP hadn’t been going that badly since taking power?
Yeah, aged like milk.

Which stations along the Cleveland line do these announcement occur about the central lift outage? On the Redcliffe train, heading inbound, the announcements play at far as Northgate station.

Be prepared for similar strikes to what happened in Sydney a few years ago

I haven’t headed into the CBD since it’s been installed but it’d probably play at Central.
Genuinely don’t know if it can play any earlier out as every station before that has it’s own waffle attatched. Maybe Boggo Road as that’s essentially the southside version of Northgate?

Or station staff being utterly unable to tell passengers which connections are available form THEIR OWN STATION, let alone being able to discern where they’re even standing.

Multiple times I’ve missed train to bus connections from fully staffed stations because according to station staff, “nothing beyond the station is of their responsibility.”

Come on.

Years ago i did a ohs training week that had several qr station staff. Trust me if you were not anti union before meeting them then you were after. Even union delegates from other organisations were in disbelief at how useless they were and how unknowlegable about the rsil network. Couldnt even get someone from roma st to wacol as they didnt know where it was. At the time they were earning more per hour than nearly everyone else in the room and complained about the stupidest things. And the favourite part for me was their job title of “porter” and they openly said they werent allowed to touch customer baggages.

My local station has two local buses that serve it.
Very rarely will I get a staff member who actually knows when the next bus is, or the schedule. It cannot be that hard to manage one platform all day and not know the buses as well. Bare minimum

Creative way to avoid fixing the signal amid the industrial action. Sounds like an issue between Boggo Road and Rocklea. Interesting given the ton of closures in that area

Due to a signalling issue, Beenleigh line trains travelling towards Central are running express from Rocklea to Boggo Road and are delayed up to 15 minutes.
Customers travelling inbound from Yeerongpilly, Yeronga, Fairfield or Dutton Park are advised to travel to Coopers Plains, then catch an inbound service.
Customers travelling inbound intending to disembark at Yeerongpilly, Yeronga, Fairfield or Dutton Park are advised to travel to Boggo Road and then catch an outbound service.

Where’s my 9-car banoon train :face_with_steam_from_nose::face_with_steam_from_nose::face_with_steam_from_nose:

If only they’d ordered more NGRs - the fleet was already tight on numbers before this debacle… and we’re seemingly going to repeat the same mistake with the QTMPs.

If no one else is aware the down sububurban track from salisbury (aciacia ridge turnoff) to yeerongpilly was shut all day.

Yeah I was about to say something on that topic: my train to the city this arvo was sent around Clapham Yard and apparently that’s gonna be the new normal onwards.

There was the new timetable for Beenleigh today and a signal issue between Rocklea and Boggo that may also have contributed, as trains missed the stops heading outbound between Rocklea and Boggo

Yeah express track northbound goes around the yard to the west in the brave new world.

As has been commented in this thread. This ongoing industrial action is going to give succour to the privatisation camp. Sometimes unions should be grateful for the deals negotiated and get on with the tasks at hand. Continuing to stuff around passengers will become counter productive.
