Expect that over April with the upcoming closures
Next April maybe - The new station isnāt slated to open until next year.
Saw this sign at Loganlea Station this morning. I note it mentions nothing about whether pedestrian access will be maintained. There is no footpath on the southern (railway) side of Armstrong Rd. A lot of people walk among here to access the hospital and TAFE from Loganlea Station.
Passing through Loganlea on DG84 and overhead cabling is slowly appearing on the southbound track.
Does anyone know how many platforms Kuraby will have? Expanding to 4, or the current 3?
It is remaining 3 platforms. The logic QR is the stopping patterns will not change so no need for a 4th platform.
Is it moving to 4 tracks with 2 platforms like the other stations on the project?
Not even all stops from Yeerongpilly to Boggo Road for GC trains? There goes that one hope of freeing capacity on the corridor that would otherwise be bypassed by CRRv1ā¦
Look to the west sideā¦3 tracks becoming 4, map looks to be 4 platform unless the 4th is a passing loop only?
The top most track in the diagram isnāt serviced by a platform, it just passes behind Platform 1.
Looks like it wouldnt be too difficult to chuck a fourth platform in there in the future if needed though
Yeah, although I canāt see Kuraby needing one anytime soon as I donāt see it becoming an interchange point where GC services would need to stop there.
Did you know that the Crisafulli LNP Government has cut the dedicated bikeway and walkway from Woodridge Train Station to Kingston Station that was to be delivered as part of the Logan Gold Coast Faster Rail project?
This means more cars on the road and fewer people walking and cycling.
Our community deserves better than this. We need this LNP cut reversed and the full bikeway and walkway from Kuraby to Beenleigh delivered in full.
Better they get em back on track to complete misding link between coomera connector section and the veloway 1 ā¦. Jelbuilder got videos of riding his ebike from brissy to goldy on that way and it can show u glaring gaps in the routes.
On the grand scheme of the total build cost, this is a stupid move.
I think a better thing to cut instead is upgrading Holmview station which is one of the least used stations in the network. Just close it and the money saved could be redirected to the bikeway.
I think the problem isnāt the cost of the path itself, itās that theyāve reworked the railway to fit under the existing Kingston Rd overpass, to avoid having to replace the bridge. In order to do this, the station has to move to the east slightly, so thereās enough space for the tracks to skew together to fit under the bridge.
Avoiding replacement of the bridge off the real problem, not the cost of the path. Removing Holmview station wonāt fix that.
I still think Holmview could easily become a very successful station if it were moved further inbound towards Edens Landing - ideally near where Holmview Road meets Grove Road. That would make it a much easier to access by road than Edens Landing is, with the 562 already running right past this location.
I agree. And a bridge over the Logan River to connect with that area as well.
