Sunshine Coast Line's Frequency & Span of Hours

So am I correct in understanding that QR could manage 60 minute frequencies to Landsborough with current infrastructure?

Theoretically they can, but it would be at the expense of freight slots, as well as possibly delaying some Traveltrain services.

Track Access Fees from the Private Freight Operators bring in another $$ revenue stream to QR as a whole. I can’t see QR giving that up.

It is a pity that the duplication Beerburrum through to Landsborough was cut all those years ago. What a difference that would have made.

Not to mention how much $ it would have saved if it was all done at the time.

It wouldn’t even be prohibitively expensive to do now. There are only two very short bridges that would need to be built, as well as a few replacement culverts.

The rest is all relatively flat, straight corridor with ample room. They don’t even need to replace the level crossing at Landsborough since the passing loop runs through it!

Alternatively fast track the Beerwah station rebuild so that the new 3rd platform can be used to turn back services that currently terminate at Caboolture once B2N is completed in 2027.

Friday night dramas on the Sunshine Coast Line…. no ā€˜backup’ when services are every 90 minutes!

I wonder why there were no sets stabled at Caboolture? This seems unusual to me.

Replacement crew are on standby at Mayne. There is no replacement crew on standby at Caboolture.
