Alt Text for Images

I’ve just had the realisation when writing another topic that I have not been changing the default alt text for images I upload to the forum. I intend to correct this in the future since the alt text is a crucial piece for accessibility. While we have no rules mandating it, I implore everyone else to do the same so we are supporting as many users as possible!

If you, like me, would like to be more inclusive with your posts, here’s how you can change the alt text for image uploads.

![This will be the alt text for an upload!|*width*x*height*](https://some.link.to.our.file.store "This will be the title actually displayed with the image")

If you omit the title, the alt text will be used for the title too.

Happy posting!

I’m not too fluent on how the coding works on here. If I’m pasting an image link from imgur that looks like this (minus the spaces obviously), what do I need to do to add the alt text?

You can change it to be in the following format: ![Alt Text](upload://jtNHRxrlMqfBUk4DjaWFf1ciOSB.jpeg "Title").

This displays as follows.
