This thread is for the presentation and discussion of Annual Reports from Queensland Rail and Translink (or successors).
Key takeaways:
In the 2023-2024 financial year, Queensland Rail:
-
Provided 8,392 services each week (within the SEQ network). Over the course of 52 weeks, Queensland Rail provided ~436,384 services/year.
-
Carried 47.2 million passenger trips on the entire SEQ network, an increase of more than 10% on the year before.
However, comparing it to the Transperth System:
-
Transperth trains provide more service than Queensland Rail. Transperth trains provided (on average) 8,966 services per week (Page 21, Annual Report). Over the course of 52 weeks, Transperth is providing 466,232 services/year. The difference is about +29,848 more train services in Perth than in SEQ.
-
carried 59.7 million passenger trips were taken on the Transperth network, an increase of 12 per cent when compared with FY23. Transperth trains are carrying 12.5 million more passengers than Queensland Rail is, which is about 2-3 train line’s worth of more patronage each year.
