Saw this morning that Cr Ryan Murphy had a number of April Fools’ posts which take an interesting angle.
I’ve included below the Redlands annex and jetski hire as more relevant to BTQ but also posted was mini blue bins collection for vapes and transparent general waste bins.
This morning Brisbane City Council work crews crossed the border and began seizing assets and changing signs in the former Redland City, as Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner confirmed long suspected plans to annex the smaller neighbouring council.
In a lengthy, often rambling press conference this morning, Cr Schrinner said former Redlands residents would benefit from much lower residential rates and the much anticipated Brisbane Metro connecting the city.
“Much like Greenland, the Redlands is better off with Brisbane, than going it alone.”
“The previous administration allowed the Victoria Point Hog’s Breath to shut down, and they will be held accountable.”
Cr Schrinner repeatedly refused to call Redlands Mayor Jos Mitchell by name, referring to her multiple times as “champ”, or “his little buddy”.
“Look what over a hundred years of independence has got them, they don’t even have dump vouchers or a 25m long bus.”
The Lord Mayor said Redlands residents needed to think carefully about which side they were on, before rushing away.
First there was the CityCats, then the KittyCats, now the IttyBittyCats are finally here!
Just like the e-scooters you know and love, micro-mobility is here to stay, and it’s coming to the Brisbane River!
So commencing from 2 April, Brisbane City Council will be deploying a fleet of 500 jetskis across 25 inner city on-water docks, pontoons and terminals.
The IttyBittyCats are essentially branded jetskis with an onboard payment facility. They will be available for use 24/7, and with no licence required, just tap and go!
