BCC Meeting Minutes and Presentations

For anyone interested in Brisbane City Council happenings I would recommend following the documents uploaded to the meeting minutes and presentations page.

In particular the Public Transport Committee PowerPoint presentations which, while still pretty high level, regularly contain details beyond the usual level communicated to the public.

I try and check it at least every few weeks. Note there is a fortnight lag before documents get uploaded.

Some examples of more notable presentations:

HASTUS (scheduling software): https://s3.ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/docs.brisbane.qld.gov.au/Council+and+Committees/2023/03-Mar/14+Mar+2023/Minutes+and+Presentation+-+07+Mar+2023/Transport+-+Presentation+-+HASTUS+-+Council’s+Bus+Scheduling+System+-+7+Mar+2023.PPTX

Thanks for monitoring these and providing them to members

BCC should not be route planning or scheduling. They provided buses and drivers. Translink must do the planning and scheduling.

Plus why discussing legibility like there isn’t a program being done by Translink!!

Ridiculous!!

The HASTUS presentation is exactly about how TfB schedule their buses and drivers…

And the RATLA presentation is all about the Translink program…

80 million bus trips p.a.

That’s about what the bus trips were already at prior to the BNBN.

It confirms that the different decal types on the Adelaide Street Bus Stop Signs are a trial to work out which offers the best visibility.

Some interesting uploads.

Looks like Transport for Brisbane (TfB) has been renamed to Public Transport Services (PTS).

They have a nice summary of history of council transport in Brisbane: https://s3.ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/docs.brisbane.qld.gov.au/Council+and+Committees/2025/09-Sept/2+September+2025/Minutes+and+Presentations/PT+-+Presentation+-+Brisbane+Transport+-+a+history+-+26+Aug+2025.pdf

Interesting, I wonder why?

What a generic name. And it doesn’t even reference Brisbane in it.

Grandios dreams of become Public Transport Queensland.

More like delusions!

oh no… less people are parking at our carparks!!!

what do we do? Increase the fares or sell them off.

Gotta pay down the interest payments and compensation for delays in our Brisbane Metro somehow.

09 September is now up.

Public Transport Committee was on “Brisbane Metro Sustainable Infrastructure”: https://s3.ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/docs.brisbane.qld.gov.au/Council+and+Committees/2025/11-Nov/4+November+2025/PT+-+Presentation+-+Brisbane+Metro+Sustainable+Infrastructure+-+9+Sep+2025.pdf

Key point seems to be them spinning the above ground Cultural Centre station solution into the “Innovative and sustainable” section by “Finding an at-grade solution at Cultural Centre station rather than an underground solution.”
