Call for Agenda Items – General Meeting on 25 January 2025

Dear Members,

We are preparing for an upcoming General Meeting scheduled to take place:

Date: Saturday, 25 January 2025
Time: 11am-2pm (to be Confirmed)
Location: TBC (likely Brisbane Square Library)

Agenda Items

We invite all members to propose agenda items for discussion during the meeting. If you have any topics, motions, or issues you would like to be included, please submit them via email to [email protected] no later than 11.59 Friday 10 January 2025.

Potential agenda items include:

  • Adoption of IGM Minutes of Meeting
  • Adoption of Position Descriptions
  • Election of Secretary
  • Election of Legal and Governance Director
  • Election of Non-Executive Director (2 Positions)
  • Election of additional members to the Working Committee (up to 10 total)

Nominations: Please send nominations by e-mail to [email protected] no later than 11.59 Friday 10 January 2025.

You do not have to be a current member to tender a nomination. Nominations from non-members will be conditional upon being accepted as a member prior to voting.

Draft position descriptions are available on the discord General Channel.

I also will be away. I have a four day weekend and the wife has ideas about how to spend it :rofl:. If there’s an online join option, I may be able to remote in.

A reminder that the following positions will be available at the Saturday Meeting:

Nominations Open for:

  • Election of Secretary
  • Election of Legal and Governance Director
  • Election of Member Events and Safety Director
  • Election of Non-Executive Director (2 Positions)
  • Election of additional members to the Working Committee (topping up to 10 positions in total)

Can I recommend that for any future meetings, that you provide an online attendance option, to make it more flexible for people who may not be able to make it in person but would still like to attend.

We will attempt to have an online option via Discord (invite if needed BTQ). This depends on whether the library provides the facilities required to do this, but assume that you can join online until specified otherwise.
