Never knew this existed, thanks for showing me it.

Just looked at the timetable and route for this service (route 320). It would make SO much more sense if this service ran to Eagle Junction station and terminated there. Then you could effectively double the frequency with the shorter span and also eliminate the duplication of the service with the rail line into the city.

One of many examples where this could be such a simple fix!

I thought this service could turn down Montpellier Road and continue along Skying Terrace to New Farm ferry. This would provide a service for people in Newfarm and Newstead to Bowen Hills Station as well.

That’s so annoying how services bunch up like that.

LNP government paints Gillmore Road with a bus only lane but is yet to consult the community in regards to the new bus route according to MP Cameron Dick.

That post seems politically motivated for sure. The full story is never explained in those circumstances.

Public transport design is not a popularity contest. Yes engage the community but partly education and partly context confirmation.

Certainly not “so where should it run?”

Pretty sure I gave feedback on the proposed changes to Route 547 last year, so I’m not sure how I managed to do that if the community wasn’t consulted.

His government put out a press release for rerouting the 547 in Berrinba last year.

That is at the intersection of Gilmore Road and Bardon Road.

Gilmore Road access was blocked off here from some point between 2015 and 2017, which coincides with the development of the industrial estate there, and has remained blocked off ever since. This was likely done to prevent heavy trucks using Bardon Road, a road lined with houses that bookends a large residential area, to get up to Wembley Road or down the Third Avenue.

Reopening and painting up Gilmore Road access as a bus-only entry would be necessary to allow the re-routing of the 547 through the industrial estate, as per what was announced by the Miles Government in the above press release.

The 100 bus route, running from Queen St station to shops at Forest Lake in the city’s southwest, had the most cancellations (487).Route 60 (CityGlider from West End to Newstead) had the second-highest number of cancellations (345) followed by route 340 (Carseldine station to the CBD) with 295 cancellations

But trust us!! buses are the end-state solution we need to have

Oh look, it’s the rerouting of the 547…

Get ready to ride - route 547 improvements

Last reviewed: Monday 28 Apr 2025 at 12.00am

From Monday 26 May, it’ll be easier to catch route 547 with better service frequency, weekend rides, and new bus stops in Berrinba.

More trips and updated timetables

We’re adding 138 trips each week for route 547 to help you travel between Woodridge station and Browns Plains.

Buses will be more frequent, running every 30 minutes during weekday peak periods and hourly all other times.

Plus, there’ll be new hourly weekend and public holiday services for the first time.

We’re also updating your timetable to make it more accurate and reliable.

Make sure you replan your travel using a date from Monday 26 May to see how the changes benefit you.

New stops in Berrinba

We’re making it more convenient to catch the bus in Berrinba, with eight new stops:

To deliver these improvements, buses need to be diverted and will no longer stop at two stops on Wembley Road at Faisal Hatia Way.

Possibly a little bit off topic for this thread, but an interesting observation - I was just looking through the updated print timetables for Logan buses that will run via Rochedale from next Monday, and I noticed that the maps on these timetables no longer show the the now-redundant separate fare zones. The thick dashed line element has been removed completely.

Lots of bus service cancellations due to lack of drivers continues …

I would like to start tracking these again at some point. Unfortunately I don’t have the time to manually keep track, but perhaps I can have a crack at automating it using the Twitter feed (or even better the GTFS feed).
