Considering the planning for almost all recent improvements started under the former ALP Government, maybe the LNP should stop taking credit for it.
Quite a few cancellations due to staff availability in BCC-land last night.
Whatās the long-term plan here? Some people are saying wages, but Iām guessing the wages would be pretty good on a Sunday. From drivers Iāve spoken to, safety is a bigger concern. The 100 in particular is notorious for safety issues. Not sure about the 199. I could imagine a lot of drunks on Friday/Saturday nights, but thought Sunday might not be so bad.
Also a few cancellations due to traffic congestionā¦at 7 pm on a Sunday. Was there a big event on last night, or us this normal now?
Frankly, I am very concerned with what appears to be an acceptance in TL and elsewhere that these service cancellations across many operators are the ā norm '. When I was in hospital my wife frequently used the 524 to Goodna Station, train to Ipswich, bus from Bell St to Ipswich Hospital to visit me. Many many times her journey to and from involved an hour or more wait for the bus, making it very frustrating and difficult to use PT. This is happening regularly, and sometimes the break between services is 2 or more hours. This lackadaisical attitude from above, coupled with the slow pace for the 2032 games has me very concerned.
When all levels of Government nor the Media donāt see the below as a crisis there really isnāt much hope.
Some early BNBN gifts.
Effective 2nd June extra express stop pair/s upgraded in East Brisbane (214, 215, 220) and Annerley (100) likely to offset the reduced via South Bank services in BNBN. Very welcome improvements either way.
From Monday 2 June, route 100 will begin servicing the stops on Ipswich Road at Victoria Terrace.
From Monday 2 June, routes 214, 215 and 220 will begin servicing the following stops on Stanley Street and Vulture Street.
As a user of those services from the east I not sure I agree. Stop spacing along Stanley St is way too close. All stops on all routes should be consolidated into 1-2 stops including the Gabba Busway Station.
It would be great to have a comprehensive and systematic bus stop positioning review.
This would be one of these low cost and fast things to do we could essentially do now.
Stop spacing and naming as well. Stops should be named by the closest street intersection or place of interest.
BCC doesnāt agree with me though.
I completely agree there are too many stops but the area needs more service and hopefully upgrading is the first step towards rationalising. The service level versus patronage of the area is pretty bad. Iām often on multiple standing pax 18x late at night which are down to only 10-15ish pax by the other end of East Brisbane.
Disagree with Stop 10. Itās far too close to the Gabba Busway Station IMO.
Stop 16 is a reasonable distance from other stops.

I donāt have a particular issue with standing for whatās a relatively short section of the journey. That doesnāt mean East Brisbane shouldnāt have better frequency, though.
Maybe a shorter route could be in order here?
Looking back 13 years and not much has changed regarding patronage uplift or transition from cars. (stuck around 9-10%)
The Caloundra connector Road is a lot better now, although it was a Sunday.
Government Statement: Crisafulli Government takes action on bus driver safety

The southbound exit ramp to Palm Beach Ave is still unfinished with just one lane open causing a bit of a backup for 760 services heading to Elanora.
Apart from that, performance has improved dramatically with pretty much all runs arriving at The Pines with about 5-10 minutes of dwell time.
I noticed they are ramping up advertising of the new Gold Glider online.
Iāve noticed a big LCD screen advertising across from KGS as well
