Glad to see Exhibition station open!

Cross River Rail have updated their FB page for Roma Street and have highlighted new access for the new permanent platform 1 busway platform

Just noticed that the CRRDA Facebook and Instagram pages have updated their profile photo to a new version of their logo that drops completely the Crossrail-like element of their logo. It is still present on their website for now, but possibly not for much longer?

I wonder why? A rebrand halfway through a project like this would be very odd.

The sceptic in means sees the new logo features “delivery authority” and the new governments motto being plastered everywhere is “Delivering for Queensland”.

So they can easily transfer the authority to another project like the Sunshine Coast line?

As much as I like to throw darts at the blue team, the delivery authority thing has been in place since the project started.

What was wrong with the CRR logo?

Did London wake up one day and complain about it to the State?

Someone should do an FOI on how much is costed to rebrand the CRR logo, and add the ‘Delivery for Queensland’.

Yes but it hasn’t featured in the logo

The reason I ask is because it seems very abrupt especially with the project not being finished until “2029”. That interchange logo with the green and orange is iconic and features on all their branding, print media, hoardings at sites, etc and now they’re just dropping it “3 years” before the project is done?

Classic project fate: Delay, Review, Rebrand, Relaunch.

Remember, this project was canceled twice before being accepted in its current form.

Let’s never speak of ‘those’ projects ever again.

The right project was chosen though is wasn’t the perfect project.

I’ll keep on saying it: the project is conceptually flawed and will only make things harder for everyone once it gets commissioned.

There are so many things around the network of various sizes that demanded more attention than this.

^^New video updates of Ekka station

Used exhibition last night to get to and from the Ekka. Very nice to have a clean, modern station and the way it integrates into the showgrounds is pretty cool, but I was a little disappointed that the PIDs on the platform weren’t working and there’s also no obvious provision for platform screen doors either. Seems like a missed opportunity considering the underground stations will all have doors.

Trains were also limited to what felt like 40km/h between Bowen Hills& Exhibition and then 40-60km/h between Exhibition and Roma Street, I do hope trains will be a bit quicker than that once CRR opens.

I believe the reason why Exhibition won’t have platform screen doors is because that section of the line won’t have automatic train operation like in the underground section, so it’d be harder for the driver to manually line up the train with said doors.

I thought it was because they are using a mixture of trains at that stop because of events. Additionally, older trains won’t have ETCS2 installed. The line itself should have ETCS2 two enabled all the way through to the Sunshine Coast.
