Disruption Management (Events, Planned Closures, Track Work, etc...)

I’m hoping it will be the norm for every event station to have a minimal arrival and departure of 10 mins or better during events.

After we just had a full closure…:sob:

Incoming pain for services beyond Caboolture next month…

The full closures are actually a better deal for GC passengers than these half-assed infrequent slow trains. I will die on that hill.

It’s a miracle. One whole month (minus Moorooka being closed) of the GC/Beenleigh line being normal timetables.

Salisbury still closed, too.

Reopenning March 2nd based on GTFS timetables.

ABC Radio mentioned this on air this morning as well. They also mentioned as Salisbury reopens Moorooka shuts down on the same day.

It’s good that they are doing extended closures otherwise track construction and realignments would take twice as long.

It’s official!

Will also now mean StationLink 19 now terminates its route at Brooke St rather than Lillian Avenue

The 12-month calendar on QR’s website has been updated to include more 3rd party closures occurring in this year. The change in language is also quite interesting. It used to be CRR led projects. I would assume the language has been broadened for LGCFR and B2N.

Notably, the April track closures have expanded.

Bowen Hills to Boggo Road is probably required to tie in the new CRR tracks just north of Breakfast Creek. This will require the relocation of some signalling equipment which is currently placed where the DOWN CRR track needs to go.

Banoon to Boggo Road would once again be for Clapham Yard and the station rebuilds.

Caboolture to Gympie north though wouldn’t be related to CRR at all. I suspect that this is the first major track closure for the B2N duplication.

Unfortunately the Gold Coast will continue getting the short end of the stick with an extended closure.

And then once again in July :face_exhaling:.

Also, anyone know what ‘third party’ this closure could possibly be for? I suspect it must be a data entry error as there’s no ‘third party’ projects out west.

They have appeared to drop some though - the May 30th & 31st closures appear to be dropped now!

Give me a full Boggo Road to Varsity Lakes closure any day of the week over a Banoon all-stopper run.

If you’re gonna inconvenience me, at least go all the way!

I have a feeling that they just keep trains running like that due to work continuity for crew. Otherwise they would run express services from Banoon…

No thanks.

Maybe they could run express buses from Beenleigh to Southbank during Banoon-Boggo Rd/Yeerongpilly closures.

They did for the first few closures but those mysteriously disappeared and now we’re stuck with this idiocy.

First time this year?

Cleveland line trains travelling in both directions between Manly and Lindum are resuming after an earlier suspension due to a road vehicle striking a rail bridge at Wynnum.
There are delays of up to 30 minutes travelling away from Brisbane City.

More reason to push the case for skyrail in the Wynnum area…

Is BTQ allowed to push for an upgrade between Lindum-Manly (and heck, push change right through to Cleveland while we’re at it?) It might be the start of a kick in the pants QR/TMR/QLD govt need.
