Due to the rail frequency reduction I’ve been WFH, so tonight is my first time riding a bus this week. It, of course, didn’t show up which I think makes it 10 consecutive days where at least one trip has either not shown or been heavily delayed. I know I sound like a broken clock but seriously what in the world is going on!?

Have they heard of rail replacement buses?

Saw many what looksled to be mamy obvious railbuses this morning heading north on kelvin grive road this morning at 430am. Looks like we have disruption today despite nothing being posted on the qr socialsyet.
I guess if an entire line was to close, Ferny Grove would be first, due to NGRs being unable to operate in revenue service on that line.
However, I’m currently at Fortitude Valley station, and they’re showing Ferny Grove trains running on the PIDs, and real-time shows trains running.
Maybe buses are being added for capacity reasons, or maybe they’re entirely unrelated. 
There have been a number of service cancellations on the Cleveland line this morning.

They have to settle it before the NRL Magic Round or become the focus of a lot of online hate and media from southerners travelling to Brisbane also. If the Minister can’t settle this and also how he and TMR have handled the e-bike and PMD laws being f**king atrocious, he might want to start researching another portfolio because there is no way he’s Minister by the end of 2026.

Pretty sure those buses were from Thompsons that operated during the whole weekend across the westside while QR was doing an occupation west of Roma Street.
Their depots are in Joyner and Brendale so they were going back to base.
No,apart from the translink ones, barnabus and mt gravatt all present. Also they wouldnt be heading back to depots at 04:45am

They are all back in the Fair Work Commission Wednesday, I think there might finally be some resolution then. But the lack of leadership from the Minister I agree is very disappointing. The wheels have fallen off the transport portfolio.

Crazy that it takes a sporting event with national eyeballs to get them to do something
I’d imagine there are some requirements in the deal with the NRL to host all the games that has a PT element to it. Regardless, the NRL want to grow the game in Perth who would throw money at V’landys to host it the moment there is a hiccup in Qld.

It is all well and good that Queensland Rail acts to try to preserve services for the expected crowds for the football, but what about the day to day inconvenience for all? Unfortunately due to a lack of early positive engagement by the Transport Minister all parties have bunkered down into their entrenched positions and have lost sight of the impacts on passengers. I don’t think Queensland Rail have handled this bargaining particularly well.
