Disruption Management (Events, Planned Closures, Track Work, etc...)

Congratulations to Perth on hosting future Magic Round (Government is still in negotiations post 2027 - lol).

I also think Perth gets it to sure up the new franchise, also they’re delivering rather large budget surpluses thanks to Qld GST funds, so I’m sure the Qld Government can remember to thank Scott Morrison for that change.

Finally the Minister has meet with the RTBU.

Bear in mind this comes straight from the RTBU… but good signs (not) seeing QR to not wanting to agree to pause their hissy fits during Magic Round. And as for Mickelberg negotiating, sounds like they just discussed staffing cuts to stations.
The circus continues.

FYI, I will be moving a bunch of posts regarding the recent industrial actions from this topic to a new Industrial Actions topic some time over the weekend. If anyone has any grievances about this move, speak now or forever hold your peace!

So Disruptions is anything affecting the network that isn’t specifically Industrial Actions related and the new thread is for when unions and governments have hissy fits with one another?

It will be fortunate if there are not major disruptions this weekend. Given the opportunity to seemingly lock in a better situation Queensland Rail remains inflexible.

The industrial action atm is large enough to warrant it’s own thread IMO. This thread is intended for smaller scale disruptions which occur.

According to a number of reports on FB, " a motor vehicle has been driven off the Nambour Connection Overpass near Yandina. The vehicle is on the rail line. Nambour Connection Road was blocked for a short period but is now open for traffic. The rail corridor is currently closed as there is Infrastructure damage that may take some time to repair & to retrieve the vehicle from the railway."
