Disruption Management (Events, Planned Closures, Track Work, etc...)

Ah yes, I was only filtering on one’s that had major in the description. I believe these are just scheduled maintenance, so they didn’t show up.

I’ll be in Canberra and Melbourne next month so once again: thank God I won’t be here to suffer through those closures again.

Someone mistyped a P for an A in this service update

Or maybe QR decided to run trains to the airport all night and there is no typo in the service announcement.

Similar to the NSW track inspection electric locomotive

Delays between Northgate and Eagle Junction due to a points fault. The Ipswich train I’m on has stopped at Sunshine and alighted some passangers.

Here we go AGAIN.

Can TMR/QR just admit that they don’t want to run the Beenleigh and Gold Coast services at all at this point?

That’s bs. The Gold Coast is the highest patronised line. If they didn’t have to do these closures, they wouldn’t. I can assure you of that.

Then explain why TMR thinks it’s completely acceptable to outright double the travel time of most journeys just because “lmao we don’t care”?

It’s embarrassing.

Not a good day for a real time data outage. Massive storms causing major delays, currently waiting at a station to rescue my partner before it goes down completely but unsure how far away her train is.

In my observations the data for trains always falls apart with bad weather for some reason.

Seems like Sunny Coast & Ferny Grove might have some problems thanks to that storm

Do we expect the network to be back online as normal tomorrow? Delays still from Translink as of 8pm tonight. Seems longer than usual

Assuming issue on the line (Fallen tree, power or something) as still suspended between Caboolture and Gympie North and Michelton and Ferny Grove

QR aren’t flagging anything substantial at this time.

Everything just came back to the norm at 10.30pm bar Caboolture-Gympie.
I suspect the Gympielander may not run tomorrow if that’s still down, might be a power problem or tree on the track

X: Update: Sunshine Coast line trains are returning to normal schedule between Caboolture and Gympie North after an earlier suspension due to severe storm activity. https://bit.ly/3MhQlpc

Not too impressed with QR’s management of this disruption. They’re usually pretty good but the signal fault at Caboolture is a lot worse than they’ve made it out to be, at least 1 Nambour to Caboolture rail bus has actually ended up having to shuttle passengers all the way to Petrie. Something about boom gate issues at Caboolture.

Also a considerable amount of people waiting at Landsborough now according to the bus drivers radio.

X: Update: Caboolture line trains travelling in both directions are delayed up to 60 minutes due to earlier storm activity. Rail replacement buses are being arranged to get you moving between Caboolture and Petrie. https://bit.ly/4pmsbYU
