Extra Trains for the Olympics?

Don’t take everything I’m saying here with a grain of salt. A lot of this is just speculation from some forums and may not be accurate.

But I have heard of talks that Perths A Series trains which are being retired at the end of this decade/early 2030s may be getting leased out to Queensland rail to allow for additional train service during the 2032 games or will be scrapped and supplying parts to our SMU/IMU fleet. The A series are very similar to our earlier SMU/IMU models so training drivers on them is probably straightforward. Also heard post games more QTMP may be ordered to replace Older SMU’s and IMU’s as despite recent refurbs, sooner or later they will be reaching retirement age in the 2030s.

Once again this is a rumour I heard from a forum, not entirely sure it’s accurate, so don’t take this post too seriously.
