Discussion. This could be an entire network reshuffle or just a fun route you would like to see. Could even be just wanting your local route to run on Sundays!.
I’d definitely like to see the southside bus network incorporate more tolled roads into its repetoire, such as the Logan Motorway and Gateway Motorway.
Picture an all-day 153 Drewvale to City (which utilises the Gateway Motorway) for instance. It’d take some burden off the 130 and 150 by a noticeable margin, as it caters to a catchment of Stretton, Parkinson, and Drewvale residents that want to get to Garden City - and quickly.
The northside already does this with the Airport Tunnel Link, but with the 310 Brighton and 330 Bracken Ridge BUZ. And its made catching a bus in the northside at least somewhat competitive.
61 extended to Mitchelton, replacing the 362.
369 to Skygate.
192 to Boggo Rd Ecoscience Precinct.
More bus services that stop at train stations in their route, such as the 61, 369, and 192.
Something connecting the Ipswich line, Beenleigh/Gold Coast lines, and the SEB. Darra-Altandi-Upper Mount Gravatt seems like a reasonable solution.
At least every 15 minutes 7-7 and every 30 5-7 & 7-11.
255 with better frequency 7 days a week
The problem is that motorway-following bus routes are really only good for direct end to end routes, because there are little to no intermediate locations that can be easily serviced by such a route, severely limiting the general usability (and viability) of the route.
From Drewvale, I would consider instead something that starts at Browns Plains, goes through Drewvale, up to Logan Central via Wembley Road, then up Ewing Road (via Woodridge Station/the Station Road precinct - less lights than Kingston Road) to Compton Road and onwards to the busway at Springwood and express into Brisbane.
I would want to see a route that goes from Mansfield to Carindale so it gives the people who live in that suburb a direct connection (as it stands currently anyone going to Carindale from Mansfield has to transfer off either the 180 or 182 onto the 177, 590 or 598).
