Surely this would be doable on the Beenleigh/GC line with a bit of intentionality and not a horrendous amount of funds?

Japanese systems are the very model of smart use of infrastructure. If we had that skill and approach we could get Brisbane trains to metro like frequencies Brough much of the network.

As someone who lives in NZ, Auckland has come a long way, although things were far more dire here than any Australian city was (I believe annual rail patronage for the whole city was about 2 million in the early 1990s.

It was terrible before electrification and the active transport push.

Pakistan has trackless trams too. Brisbane on par with Pakistan public transport.

Not quite. Pakistan is using guided buses (albeit bi-articulated). Brisbane has bi-articulated buses. Be interesting to see how they go in the longer term in Pakistan.
