Most bus routes will be run at 15-30 minute frequencies, with busier bus routes running at every 7.5-10 minutes.

The new bus network has been redesigned with an emphasis on efficiency, user experience and coverage. All 3 elements were balanced to provide a better experience for the users. The new bus network also takes in multiple proposals from the community.

The new bus network relies on multiple pieces of infrastructure, including LGCFR, Loganlea to Loganholme Green corridor including associated busway, and the Metro extension to Springwood. In lieu of more accurate satellite imagery, or fully constructed roads in new developments, approximations were used to determine new road layouts for new bus lines. No part of the lines are fully accurate to the road they are on and are there for illustrative purposes. Further clarification with the new lines are encouraged.

Any feedback or thoughts are appreciated!

Aside from extending the M1, Logan’s bus network is fine as it is.

A lot of people have come up to me and say otherwise

I would’ve also added a Flagstone to Springfield Central route. It would go via Springfield Greenbank arterial, and run every 30 minutes.

Such a route would be a shorter trip than Flagstone’s only bus route, the 535, which takes 40 minutes to get to Browns Plains. It’d also provide a connection to the Springfield Line and Orion Shopping Centre.

I see the appeal of the bus route, but I don’t see a market for that route. Is there ridership or other opinions to support this route?

I would introduce it as a trial route for a few months, and see if the Flagstone community are receptive towards it.

At the end of the day, I want these outer-outer-outer suburbs to be given at least a lifeline. Its clear B2S (Beaudesert to Salisbury) isn’t happening in 10 years. Thus, we should at least be morally obligated to give them some form of active transport infrastructure.

Build a continuous shared path from Flagstone to both Browns Plains and Springfield Central. And the same must be done from Yarrabilba/Logan Village to Loganlea.

We shouldn’t have to live in a society where its crazy to say that you want to walk/cycle/scoot from Flagstone to Jimboomba. But it is, sadly, since there’s no footpath, despite being the nearest activity centre.

I highly doubt the 555 will terminate at Springwood, as its currently the only way to get from Elizabeth St to Logan without changing buses.

Also, what will happen the the artics?

While this is true, 569 will still remain for people who drive to Loganholme, which still remains a single seat to the City. Additionally, the 565 and 570 will be extended to Springwood, meaning it only remains a single transfer from the 565/570 to the M1, which is the same amount of transfers with the current configuration.

Artics will be rostered accordingly just like currently, with specific services across a wide range of routes.

Also I believe for every ‘special route’-like a BRT, LR or HR line, there should be an alternative.

I do like the Metro, tho I do find it boring. So as a semi-regualar traveller to the Southside, I have started taking the 150 (Browns Plains Express) as it bypasses most the stops on the SE Busway.

Here:

There is alternatives.

You can still commute between Loganholme, Springwood and Rochedale, and the City without stepping foot on a metro during the peak hours. Even outside of peak hours, you can still catch a bus to Griffith University and catch a 576 or a 578 to Springwood.

I’d be fine with the 555 being truncated to Griffith University :folded_hands:

It might be better for the 555 to go to the actual Garden City Interchange, but the 555 truncation to Springwood was designed to reduce double up (which has been Translink’s craze over the past 2 years)

If we’re going to truncate the 555 to Springwood, then plz tell me it has improved off-peak frequencies as a result :face_with_peeking_eye:

We need a service that goes from RBWH to Eight Mile Plains via the busway… extend the M1 maybe

All the feeder lines are planned to be every 15-30 minutes. This means that the entire corridor along the M1 between Loganholme and Springwood will be every 5-10 minutes on average.

You could just catch the 26 if you hate the metro.

I would instead give Flagstone and Yarrabilba direct buses into the City (Queen Street Bus station) via browns plains and Mt Gravatt then along the SE busway into the city but as express routes.

This sounds great, but this also just sounds like another 281. It’s only a single transfer to the 142 or the Airport Line anyways, and while the frequency needs to be improved, a single seat journey from Yarrabilba/Flagstaff on a bus is a waste of resources, particularly for Logan Coaches and Bus Queensland who operate within that region.
