Level crossing removal Victoria

We've reached an incredible milestone of 85 level crossings gone for good.

Across Melbourne, our project has reduced congestion, improved safety and connected communities – take a look!

There's more come, with a total of 110 level crossings set to be removed by 2030. pic.twitter.com/mGTxqAboO6

Just taking it easy for now thanks. Victoria has, and continues to show, what can be achieved with committment. :cowboy_hat_face:

Glad you’re taking the time to rest!

And, yes, I feel more optimistic about things than I have in a while since this new plan.

For all our liveability, does Hughesdale have an identity? I think we struggled with that before the level crossing removal. The residents in Hughesdale’s north inevitably gravitated towards Chadstone, while those in the larger southern section were pulled into Oakleigh. But, the fast-growing apartment, retail and hospitality zone near the new train station has brought us together, and we are proud of what we have to share.

Another win for level crossing removals, and people seeing the benefits of having density clustered around a train station. Impressive to see.

Hughesdale has been invigorated by the LX removal for sure. I used to travel to Hughesdale station in my high school days early 1960s. From what it was then to now is most remarkable. Shows what can be achieved with well thought out infrastructure - a suburb now united where it once was splintered.
