It’s a bit of a mess! The number of signalling issues is astonishing. How old is the technology?

Big mess! As far as can discerned from the limited information posted on social media there seems to be a signal fault at Fortitude Valley station. It must have taken out the subs. I have asked QR if they can provide some more detail as to the actual problem.

From QR: 1/2 Hi Robert, we were experiencing an issue to a single signal at Fortitude Valley. However, the proximity of the signal to the overhead power lines required the power to be isolated for the safety of our workers resulting in the suspension on the Ferny Grove line.
2/2 We cancelled AM peak services and commenced repair works after the peak period to prevent further network wide disruptions. The issue has just now been resolved.

RESOLVED 11:35AM: Customers, the signalling issue at Fortitude Valley has been resolved. Residual delays of up to 15 minutes are expected for customers travelling in both directions on all lines. We thank you for your patience while we worked to resolve this issue.

UPDATE: 10:55AM: Customers, services have now resumed in both directions on the Ferny Grove line. Rail replacement buses are still in operation to assist with transporting customers between Ferny Grove and Bowen Hills and will finish operating by 11:30am. Delays of up to 30 minutes are anticipated for customers travelling in both directions on the Ferny Grove line. Delays of up to 15 minutes are still anticipated for customers travelling on all other lines. Beenleigh line services are now operating through to Central.

Cancellations are still ongoing; I just had a notification from the My Translink app that the 12:10 pm ex Varsity Lakes is cancelled.

From a friend of mine on a Bus Queensland (Westside) unit. It looks like Hanover equipment instead of Consat.

That’s why the fares are 50c

I spotted this PID onboard Thompson Bus Services 084 today. It is a Hanover PID unit with some sort of passenger counting device fitted to both doors now as well. Desto controller has been replaced with a Hanover EG4 and I expect this to be added to the rest of the fleet eventually.

Essential track maintenance?

I wish they’d be more specific with their posts, as I think that would help create more understanding from people who are affected by the delays and cancellations.

Just saw an EMU stopped (parked?) on the CRR up just past the new bridge over Enoggera Creek. Not sure if they’re using it for testing, or just storage while the bridge isn’t open

Maybe, or maybe it would just confuse people, hard to say.

All trains are running express through Fortitude Valley station due to an incident requiring emergency services.
