Well, so much for any hope that the BNBN-related changes to Clarks services would end the cancelations. At least there were less cancellations than there has been, and they were able to run a few more of them in the end. That missing 581 would hurt

Yesterday’s FB Post:

Today’s FB Post:

And this morning just to add insult to injury (not Clarks’ fault obviously)…

New posters spotted on Kinetic Surfside units.

Seen some on the Transdev units as well.

There should be only 1 source of info re routes, delays, etc and that is Translink. Same for rail, light rail and ferry. Branding is shot!

While I generally agree (and I believe these cancellations do get reported by Translink as well), the Clarks Facebook posts I find to be a more concise, more useful source of information than the way it would be reported by Translink.

Probably also worth noting that this morning that a Clarks bus broke down on the Elizabeth Street Offramp of the riverside expressway, blocking one on the lanes and causing traffic to back up right back to the Captain Cook Bridge. Looked to be one of their older Bustech models.

Seen these on the metro as well

On a revamped SMU IMU (169) and the auto announcements are one station out of sync. Awkward. Guard is having to cut off & interject.

The announcements scrolling on the passenger info screens are cool.

No pre-select any more!

In Toowoomba for medical appointments today and I think I spied BB18 1/4 1086 in the DownsSteam yard at Drayton while driving past, which means it might have made the pilgrimage from Mackay (a conspicuously not shinily painted large green locomotive looked to be in the yard). Will have to get a closer look next time I’m there in a few weeks to confirm.

Out of the 279 cities Brisbane places 120 surprisingly good for population percentage near rail

That happens all the time LOLs. There were complaints about those announcements and how they can be inaccurate, long winded and unclear from a few people at the QTMP visit as well, which I agree with.

7th place for Southeast Asia and Oceania as well, meaning that Brisbane is doing quite well in terms of population with access to a train station (even better than Perth that has a higher patronage).

If Brisbane was able to run most of the train lines at 15min frequencies rather than 30min, how much will the percentage of population with access to good public transport increase by from 33%?

Our density is not great around our major transit routes…in this case Rail.

This contributes significantly to our housing crisis.

I fear it would be be lower around the busway and trunk bus routes.

8:09 Shorncliffe-Cleveland train ran express from Northgate to Bowen Hills due to 7min delay. Apparently the train had a fault at Shorncliffe that cause it to depart late.

Regarding blackspots on the mobile network while on the train, there seems to be a blackspot with Optus between Roma Street and the Merivale Bridge as well as between Roma Street and Central.

A number of Citytrain service cancellations this morning already, due to ’ train faults ’ :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
