Also a bridge strike this morning as well.

The 5:47am Caboolture to Central train is running express from Petrie to Eagle Junction due to a road vehicle striking a rail bridge.

They changed these information posters only to change the colour. How… Petty.

Same line with track closures every other weekend…

You do realise those closures aren’t for track maintenance? They’re mostly CRR-related.

The worst part is that they arent using the closure for general maintenence.

Why can’t they do both?
From the service update the track fault was on the Beenleigh stretch of the Gold Coast Line which it shares with Beenleigh as that had a similar service update. Isn’t the beenleigh section looked at a LOT at the present with LGCFR and CRR rolling out?

Because possession is by CRRDA, not QR. It’s pretty irrelevant anyway, as the track fault was at Edens Landing, a section that isn’t regularly closed for CRR works. Last closure was 6-7 December 2025, so basically two months ago.

You might better ask why there was a signal fault at Carseldine this week, despite a maintenance closure the previous weekend.

Noticed some trains looking more beat the usual - train wash out of action?

Also is there terminators at Lota now? Theres a blank train stopped there when I’ve been through the past few times

Broken Down train on the network cancelling Cannon Hill-Central services

Yesterday i noticed 2 manly trains at roma street. One in the morning, one in the afternoon. First on the mainlines, the 2nd on pl3. I know these arent normal services

Wonder what they’re doing then

As I sit on another crowded Saturday morning 545, I wonder when we’ll finally get half-hourly services, at least until around 5:30 pm or so.

I’m on IMU177, there have been zero automated announcements. Only the guard. It’s surprisingly peaceful.

Peak QR experience.
Are the IMUs and SMUs doing half of the runs on Cleveland line today?
I’m working nearby to the line and keep seeing older models fly past.

Massive police/Translink operation at Beenleigh station this evening, checking tickets and police wanding for weapons. I reckon there were at least a dozen officers present, maybe more. I didn’t count them or get the breakdown, though.

They always seem to be at the Valley station doing these blitzes and it’s a good thing that they are targeting other stations around the network now as well.

I saw a smaller operation at Loganholme bus station a week or so ago - a couple of Translink officers and a small team of police, one with a wand in hand. I arrived back late that night, so I think they were just wrapping things up.

In other bus news, about half an hour ago there was a purple City Loop bus turning out from Felix Street onto Mary/Eagle Street with the ā€œHelp Call Policeā€ desto board up while it was repeatedly sounding its horn as it continued up the street (not sure if the driver was doing this manually or whether it was an automatic emergency alert thing). I and at least one other person called police to report it.

The QPS has put out some media about these blitzes in the past: Operation Xray Calculus and Operation Brisbane Safe, Brisbane’s north - Queensland Police News

As an addendum, when I returned to Beenleigh Station around 45 minutes later, there was a guy riding his bike up the ramp towards the platform. One of the police asked him (quite politely, IMO) to dismount from his bicycle. The cyclist in question took offence for some reason, and began verbally abusing the cop using some rather colourful language. I think his night may not have ended pleasantly.
