This was discussed at the RATLR forum. They want to finalise the final station signage before they start installing display cabinets.

Council is currently receiving 20 more TMR Volvo B8RLE’s at Sherwood depot. These will be in the new Teal TransLink livery and I presume numbered S3019 - S3038 and 0205 - 0224.

NGR on todays’ Gympielander via the Ekka loop today. Assuming that doesn’t get swapped out at Nambour.

Do some NGRs have ATP now? If not, does that mean they need two drivers north of Nambour?

Not all NGRs have ETCS fitted (I’m not even sure if they started on that project yet), thus likely a second driver will have to join the drivers cab at Nambour as per usual.

That’s a rough trip in an NGR seat.

Is it travelling via the Tennyson loop? I don’t think it’s possible to get from P8 to the Merivale Bridge.

There was a Gold Coast train on P4 leaving about a minute earlier so not sure what the go was.

It is possible.

And now there are two ICE sets according to QR? What?

Maybe “X” has come back into use for other purposes? No point in blocking it off indefinitely for rollingstock that hasn’t been in the fleet for years.

It appears there is still no real time tracking available for Route 587. Can we enquire with TL about why this is the case?

Could it be that Logan Coaches are using their own buses on the route that don’t have the real time infrastructure for it?

It is powered by the ticketing system so it isn’t clear why that would be the case.

^^ Is it all self contained within the ticketing units, or does it require something further, like an additional GPS transponder attached to the vehicle, or any base station or similar at the depot to relay information back to Translink?

Their buses have TL ticketing systems and all of the usual equipment so I don’t understand why the buses aren’t reporting. It’s genuinely weird.

Back when the route was first launched I remember seeing a service update saying that real time would start several weeks after the service started. I was actively monitoring GTFS at the time but never saw it appear.

My understanding is they added live data on TransLink itself but Logan Coaches must never have been properly set up on the TransLink side to rebroadcast to the GTFS realtime.

I’ll see if I can dig up a copy of the service updates.
