Proposal - 601 - Beerwah to Kawana Shoppingworld via Nirimba and Birtinya (Sunshine Coast University Hospital)

Interim Rail Feeder to compliment the existing 605/615 in the region following most of the DSCRL alignment.

It would serve the same function as the two mentioned routes, but using Beerwah station instead of Landsborough, and also gives Baringa and Nirimba direct access to Rail Services instead of backtracking to a 605 to Landsborough (which adds travel extra time) or an alternative to driving to Beerwah.

Many of the other suburbs along the DSCRL e.g Caloundra, Maroochydore, etc are already internally covered by the HF-600 and some have half-hourly local services like the SCUH’s 607 and 611.

For now however, the 601 would serve as a rail feeder like the existing two services. Once the DSCRL opens to Caloundra, the 601 would terminate at Nirimba Train Station and increased to a frequent local service (either a minimum half-hourly or optimally a HF-601, Population Growth and Bus Lane Infrastructure Permitting).
