We need police officers at every single station and on every single train to curb assaults and crime on our trains.

I think that’s an overreach. By in large trains are safe or at least no less safe than walking around on the street. QPS are barely recruiting above attrition rates so it would be next to impossible to hire the number of extra police you’d need to cover every single train. There’s also a question of morale because as I said by in large trains in safe so you would have some very bored police officers which could lead to unintended consequences (over policing and harrassing people for minor things just to keep themselves busy, for example)
