QR Train Stopping Patterns

How hard would it be to have a bus lane going past Zillmere Station, from Zillmere Rd to Pretoria St? Even if Cabo/SC trains don’t stop there, I think it would be useful for local passengers.

Northbound: L Zillmere Rd, R bus lane, R Pretoria St, L Handford Rd
Southbound: R Pretoria St, L bus lane, L Zillmere Rd, R Handfrod Rd

Have the traffic lights at Zillmere/Handford give bus priority. The only thing I’m not sure about is the right turn from Handford into Pretoria. This could be problematic during peak hours without signals.

I also lived in the Redlands from 1989 to 2015 (also went to Redlands College!).

My thoughts on the line is that post CRR is that you run Manly-FG services every 15mins, with Cleveland-Bowen Hills services every 30mins but run them full time part express, ideally from Manly to Morningside (not Murrarie like they did recently).

Until they duplicate the line from Cleveland to Manly, services will be limited to 30min frequency in off peak, as slots need to be free in between revenue services for crew training etc, and that’s speaking from experience of working on those non-published timetables a decade ago. It won’t be anytime soon though, duplication, I’ve been fighting for duplication since I tried doing a petition way back in 2002 (wasn’t taken seriously, still looked like a kid at that time - I was 19).

I can see the merit in that, although I could see reliability potentially being an issue during peak periods with the express and all stations services. Do you think that could be managed?

I believe it can, at least on paper when I looked at it a while ago. Will relook at it later this week when I’ve got time.
