Also, the plans I have seen here and elsewhere don’t suggest there is going to be 25% less seating.
Frankly, it is probably a better compromise than what the poor buggers in Perth have to put up with, where all A-series and some B-series trains contain 100% longtitudinal seating. That must be fantastic for passenger comfort if you happen to be going across town on a Yanchep-Mandurah trip.
I don’t get why things like this have to be so secretive, its not national defence or anything like that.

IMO Government media releases should never mention parties or previous governments by name. They are meant to be formal communications from government, not an outlet for party politics. It’s extremely petty regardless of whether it has any grounding in reality.
I’m really glad that BTQ Media Releases will read much better than some government MRs that have been published.
And be politically impartial.
