Is it just me? I’ve had 3 penalty fares this week due to being able to tap on a bus, but not off. Has anyone else had issues with the machines stopping working partway through the route, and then stopping suddenly? Or have I been extraordinarily unlucky?

Personally, I think these ticket machines need to be completely replaced with newer models. They’re dinosaurs - IIRC they used something like Windows XP (if not older) as the underlying OS.

Not to mention how abysmal the touchscreens on them are, I swear there’s not a single one where the picture & touch points are actually aligned

I practically have to thump the screen on my local ones to get the screen to register a touch.

It baffles me that newer stations (Hope Island, Pimpama, GCLR3) still have the older machines when they could get newer ones from Cubic

I’m going to hazard a guess that newer ticket machines aren’t compatable with the legacy Go Card system, so we probably won’t see the back of these machines until the Go Card is replaced.

I honestly hope they haven’t wasted too much money with this new UI rollout.

I got a quick glimpse of the one at Eight Mile Plains, and it looked like it had been updated too. I will check the one at Rochedale tonight.

We must be on the same wavelength today - I was just thinking that. The only thing is the ticket machine UI that’s finally appearing at busway stations. Isn’t next generation go cards supposed to be sometime in 2027?

Any sign of it or is it still to arrive? I wonder if GCLR stations have it come to think of it…

I haven’t actually used the machine yet, but from a distance I believe robina station’s go card terminal has been updated with the new ui.

Both machines at Rochedale have been updated, but I think the update has broken the one on the outbound platform.
