The Adelaide O-Bahn guided busway is based on german systems. You can see here a bit of an engineering experiment was carried out to make trams and trolley buses share underground tram tunnels.
The first vehicle that passes through the tunnel is a standard tram. The second is a bus, which stops at the tram platform.
