Sydney Bus changes

Edit: found TfNSW link: Bus changes in December and January | transportnsw.info

Just saw this Facebook post pop up with upcoming changes to North Shore region.

Sydney seems to have good momentum with regular significant improvements. Especially noteworthy is their continued use of school holiday timetables and now during school terms Friday being split off from the rest of the week.

𝗕𝗨𝗦 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗡𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗛 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗥𝗘 🚨

🚌 𝗕𝟭 𝗕-𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗲 - 𝟴𝟮 additional trips per week, building on 30 additional trips introduced last October, to increase capacity at busy times. An additional double decker was added to the B-Line fleet in October. Changes to the timetable include more time for loading passengers at Wynyard, which will assist in on time running and making full use of available capacity.

🚌 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗭𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗤𝗩𝗕 - 𝟮𝟭𝟵 additional weekly trips to increase capacity whilst articulated buses are unavailable and to replace route 246.

🚌 𝟭𝟭𝟭 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗳 - some trips will now only operate South Mosman Wharf to Middle Head, reflecting low patronage between Middle Head and Chowder Bay. Services hours will be extended to operate one hour later each day, improving connections with the F6 ferry.

🚌 𝟭𝟭𝟰 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 - additional trips will operate on weekday mornings to increase capacity whilst articulated buses are unavailable. Westbound services at Crows Nest will be rerouted to a more direct on Pacific Hwy, matching eastbound services and providing better connectivity to the Metro station.

🚌 𝟭𝟰𝟰 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘀𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘃𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 – will become a 24/7 bus route (replacing the 144N overnight service). An additional155 weekly trips to improve frequency on weekends to increase capacity whilst articulated buses are unavailable for the route.

🚌 𝟭𝟲𝟱𝗫, 𝟭𝟳𝟬𝗫, 𝟭𝟳𝟮𝗫, 𝟭𝟳𝟰𝗫, 𝟭𝟴𝟭𝗫 - timetables have been adjusted to shift more trips in the busier times in peak periods, improving capacity on Military Rd.

🚌 𝟮𝟮𝟴 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 – route adjustments. Services will no longer operate between Mosman and Milsons Point; route 228 retained between Clifton Gardens and Mosman High School only. Some route 228 trips will use the same bus to operate a trip between Mosman and Milsons Point as a route 230 (and vice versa) and passengers will be able to remain the bus for the complete journey.

🚌 𝟮𝟮𝟵 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝘃𝗶𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 – route adjustment. Services will no longer operate between North Sydney and Milsons Point due to low patronage in this section and frequent alternatives. They will continue to operate between North Sydney and Beauty.

🚌 𝟮𝟯𝟬 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗳 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝘃𝗶𝗮 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝘆𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘆 – extended hours of operations and additional weekly trips are being operated to improve capacity at busy times. Services will start earlier in the morning and finish later at night. All weekday off peak services will now operate to Mosman Bay Wharf (currently some terminate short at Spit Junction).

🚌 𝟮𝟯𝟴 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗭𝗼𝗼 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗳 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 - additional weekday morning services will operate between Taronga Zoo Wharf and the zoo entrance, alleviating overcrowding currently experienced.

🚌 𝟮𝟰𝟲 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗪𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗱 - weekday peak trips that operate only between Cremorne and Wynyard will be replaced by additional route 100 trips to QVB (same stops served on Military Rd). Running these trips as the far more frequent (and popular) route 100 simplifies the network for passengers. Trips that operate the full length of the route between Balmoral Heights and the City will continue to operate as route 246.

Also note that Friday and school holiday timetables

  • Routes 𝗕𝟭, 𝟭𝟬𝟬, 𝟭𝟰𝟰, 𝟭𝟲𝟬𝗫, 𝟭𝟲𝟱𝗫, 𝟭𝟳𝟬𝗫, 𝟭𝟳𝟰𝗫, 𝟭𝟳𝟲𝗫, 𝟭𝟳𝟳𝗫, 𝟭𝟴𝟬𝗫, 𝟭𝟴𝟭𝗫 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟭𝟵𝟬𝗫 will now operate with a Friday School Term timetable (different to Monday-Thursday). This reflects lower patronage and faster journey times on Fridays and has assisted in improving Monday-Thursday reliability and capacity.

  • Routes 𝗕𝟭, 𝟭𝟬𝟬, 𝟭𝟰𝟰, 𝟭𝟲𝟱𝗫, 𝟭𝟳𝟬𝗫, 𝟭𝟳𝟰𝗫, 𝟭𝟳𝟲𝗫, 𝟭𝟳𝟳𝗫, 𝟭𝟴𝟬𝗫, 𝟭𝟴𝟭𝗫 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟭𝟵𝟬𝗫 will now operate with a Monday to Friday School Holidays timetable. This reflects lower patronage and faster journey times during school holidays.
