This is extremely concerning for our national security. Why on earth did the NSW Government sign a contract for Chinese Built trains. What about the national security threats these trains pose. They are automated and could potentially be overrieded and controlled remotely by beijing, putting passengers lives at grave danger.
And what on earth happened to trying to promote new Australian made trains?.

Of course this is a NSW decision, and they’ve been far less focused on procuring from within Australia than the previous Queensland government was when the QTMP trains were being procured.
As for the merits of a chinese company being involved; sure it can in theory present a security risk, but there’s plenty of chinese made products we use every single day which have no issues. Assuming the NSW government does a sound security audit, I’m sure it will be fine.

CRRC was involved with manufacturing the Waratah A & B sets and the HCMTs (which have automatic train operation in the Metro Tunnel) and they are perfectly fine. With all due respect I think you’re being a tad alarmist.

CRRC manufacture trains for plenty of other countries, and MTR Corporation is Hong Kong based
Do you even know the kind of people we are dealing with, buddy?.
Australian motorways are filled with BYD vehicles, just wait until the CCP takes control of those as well!
You know, BTQ turned into a Drew Pavlou page so gradually I didn’t even notice.

The same level of alarmism could be used towards any us company that we have ties with. You can rest, friend.

Hopefully you never use any device that depends on GPS. That’s quite literally a US military system that they can turn on and off for you as they please.
