BCC next? :squinting_face_with_tongue:

Here is hoping but based on the bravado of the Lord Mayor on TV tonight where he blamed State Govt for putting Brisbane Transport last (aka no one puts baby in the corner) on Smart Card rollout I would not hold my breath.

The accelerated arrival on BCc buses has me thinking the delay was politically motivated/enabled.

But he really wants Brisbane to get things first! So he should be jumping at the opportunity to get the new livery surely.

But he wants to be first his way!!

The Gold Coast bus pictured above is a repaint. There is at least one other.

The 2 most recent buses into service on the Gold Coast this last week have this new livery from new, and presumably anything else from this point also will from the outset.

I think it is an improvement over the green but also worth noting the green livery was not around for long enough to completely displace older private operator liveries. There are still yellow buses knocking about on the Gold Coast (last 2 like that were delivered in 2008 although both of those have since been put into green) and probably will be for another couple of years, although increasingly probably only seen on school services.

I’m still surprised the DTMR fleet of Volvos was delivered in green despite otherwise having the current logo and colours. That order is not yet complete so it might be the balance (around 40) come out in the new scheme.

Kangaroo Bus Lines latest bus to roll off Volgren (Also Volgren’s 2000th QLD built) is in the blue livery.

I wish they stuck with the livery above. It looks a bit bland without the extra colour on the sides.

This one too back in October!?!?

I remember when all BCC buses and the trains were blue. It’s good that they are going back to that some what.

It’s a similar livery to Sydney buses don’t your reckon?

Quite similar, but thats not a bad thing. Sydney has a fine livery.

Sure, it’s better than what we have now.

The trains should be the next step. Get rid of all that yellow and maroon. (I think they just let their safety officers go rampant without thinking of the repercussions). BCC too, to some respects

No need for all that yellow as you don’t see it on front of cars, fork lifts, planes etc…

As part of this media release today, looks like we have had a sneak peak of the new train livery.

From Flickr it looks like some of new Kinetic MAN are now in Blue/Pink livery too.

I don’t know if The Wave livery is going to work on trains for the simple reason that it will carry that SC-specific livery wherever it originates from. Will they really want us to be ā€œriding the Waveā€ from the GC or Beenleigh? It would be like ā€œRid(ing) the Gā€ from Roma Street?

Apparently, NGR trains will be used exclusively on the GC and SC coast to coast lines, so they may nickname the line from Birtinya to Varsity lakes ā€œThe Waveā€.

It’s quite clever actually from a marketing perspective.

That’s obviously incorrect. There’s 75 NGR trains! You don’t need 75 trains to run the line from GC to Birtyna. Yes, they will be the only trains allowed in the tunnel. No, they will not exclusively be on the GC to Birtyna line. They’ll also be Beenleigh to Kippa-Ring at the very least.

That’s what I meant that those trains will be mostly used in that line. Since they are, they could essentially use the new marketing and livery for the coast to coast line.

Unless if there’s also GC specific special liveries for the NGR, I can’t see this specific livery (done as a mock-up by TMR) getting off the ground.

Who knows, they could use BCC branded metro buses in the SC doing the ā€˜Wave’? :face_with_head_bandage:

The GC Line is being paired with the SC Line isn’t it? You can’t have GC specific and SC specific liveries on trains travelling between both destinations, not unless the trains have a Las Vegas Sphere-like skin…
