lol. lmao, even.
It was playing up on the weekend as well as the GTFS feed to third party apps.
translink is currently using the HAFAS framework from Hacon/Siemens.
I hope we get that upgrade at the same time on the Translink App.
Translink App Update - 22nd August
What’s new:
- Link to route timetables
- Nearby departures are available on the home screen
- Sort journey suggestions by departure time, arrival time or duration
- Updates to ‘my trips’ to for saving journeys
- Add an additional ‘via’ stop to journey plans
- Bug fix to improve overall app performance

It seems like they’re trying to make the Translink app have slightly more parity with the MyTranslink app.
It would be good if the home page shows the starred stations/stops rather than having to track your location to suggest stops/stations.
A combination of both would be good. AnyTrip does this by providing a tab for favourites and another for nearby.
Wow the Translink App only has a 1.3 star rating on Google play.
Not much better on the Apple camp either!
Throwing comparisons with third party apps just for the sake of it.
Unsurprising, IMO. It really is garbage.
It’s hopeless. I tried it the other day, set up some “my trips” as I thought notifications of service delays would be useful. But instead it sends you a whole series of notifications about each trip as it is coming up, arriving at start, arriving at end and maybe something about delays - hard to tell as it didn’t seem to be connecting with real time data at that time. There should be a way to select the types of notifications you want to receive.
Old Translink app canned, and new version ‘worse than paper map from 2015’
It’s the end of an era for the old MyTranslink app, which will be binned on Friday after more than a decade and replaced with a new public transport app which is disliked even more.
…
However, the new app – Translink – has an even worse rating, with just 1.4 stars out of five.

“Relying on wind speed and astrology would probably be more helpful than trying to use this app.”
…
A Translink spokesman said the new app provided functionality not available in the old app, including real-time journey planning, increased personalisation and the ability to save trips, and live navigation.
“Since an early version of the app was released to allow customers to familiarise themselves with the new app, Translink has made several updates,” he saiThe spokesman said a recent update was released on Sunday, August 24 and additional upgrades will follow.d. Typical head in the sand response from TransLink.
Ha, this comment is spot on!
“Relying on wind speed and astrology would probably be more helpful than trying to use this app.”
Absolutely clueless. I still have the app, but probably won’t use it much.
I will use either Anytrip (very useful if you already know where you’re going, and just need real-time departures), Google Maps, or the Tranlink website journey planner.
The fact that they still don’t have proper go card integration, when Opal has had this for years, just makes it even more worthless.
I don’t even trust them to integrate smart ticketing account information into the app honestly.
The app’s codebase is so, SO German it hurts to even look at. There’s no finesse to it at all.
And it’s over.
THERE GOES MY HERO
