I went to have a look at the recently-reopened Yeerongpilly Station today. Platform 1 is still closed, and also has no tracks beside it.
Now, if memory serves me correctly (and the current Google Maps satellite images seem to agree), there was never a platform, or any track, in this position at the old Yeerongpilly Station.
This makes me think there will be four tracks through Yeerongpilly Station when works are completed—one on each platform face, and the dual gauge, which is west of platform three. Could this be a potential place where express trains pass all-stoppers? Might this allow for an increased counter-peak frequency on the Beenleigh/Gold Coast lines (in conjunction with GCLFR)?
