Can anyone clarify whether NSW uses the same contact-less payment back-end system as SE QLD; that is contact-less payment for transport or off-line data authentication?

I don’t believe they do. Both are Cubic (currently) but the Opal system is much older than the new Smart Ticketing system.
NSW is about to upgrade to a new ticketing system which will not be operated by Cubic.
Sorry back-end system maybe incorrect. What would the contactless payment for transport standard be called?
