Concept Thread: New or Changed Bus Route Proposals

Would think beams better than roghan to service Taigum better

There definitely needs to be a high frequency corridor identified and some of the long routes chopped up on the peninsula.

I would not be in favour of a bus all the way to Chermside as there are routes that could integrate with the shorncliffe line with higher frequency by terminating at Sandgate. Further feed will help justify all day 15m trains. North Lakes is the Chermside of the north and more frequent (and PM) access would encourage mode shift.

325- make this more direct and higher frequency from Boondall which then gives a chermside option.

(Cut out the dogleg via roghan, and go Roscommon, L Sandgate Rd, r beams Rd, into Taigum shops and normal route)

335- reroute via roghan/muller to maintain service through there.

691- change to follow Anzac AV at the hospital to kippa shops and then directly down snook st past industrial area in Clontarf and the schools, over the bridge into Sandgate

690- change to a circular peninsular route combining 694 Start/Finish Kippa times with the trains min 30 freq better in peak

680- terminate at North Lakes

New High Frequency limited stops, Start at Murrumba Downs station, North Lakes, Anzac Ave, Rothwell, Kippa, Hospital, Redcliffe, Margate, Woody Point, Sandgate

Given traffic is an issue at North Lakes, I would have on-road stop at Anzac AV instead of going into the interchange. Will require some infrastructure to make safe, whether that be a bridge over the road. But think of a bus way type station near to the post office entrance.

Redcliffe stop would be at the Woolworths R sutton, R Sydney St then L oxley Ave to Margate

great ideas i think it would be good if they could be viuslaised on a proper map. Aslo wondering what will happen to the current 691 and 694 services down Maine Road and Victoria Avenue?

If u axe the 680 to norrh lakes

The stratho to chermy… are u gonna make them use ttains toa carseldine/zillnere from baldy/stratho lol

You create a new route from Strathpine to Chermside that doesn’t go all the too Redcliffe/North Lakes

Think I would split the 680 at Petrie, simply for length reasons. 680 from Redcliffe to Strathpine is still too long, IMO.
