Cross River Rail (CRR)

During CRR testing period couldn’t they just run the routes via the Tennyson loop?

No… they could have CRR running by Christmas if they wanted to.

However… it took the BCC took two years to test their precious buses.

They appear to be testing integration of the ETCS signalling system with GTFS as live data has been showing up for trains testing on the Shorncliffe line all day.

Clapham Yard is just south of where the Tennyson branch joins so unfortunately it can’t be used to bypass works around the new yard. I personally think it’s likely that the CRR tunnels will be complete before the yard is complete.

If you want the Tennyson line to be in use for the Banoon track closures, then the only service I see happening is the Tennyson trains heading north to South Bank and Merivale Bridge from Corinda (unless any section from Yeerongpilly-Boggo Road is occupied which is definitely the case). Clapham Yard is right in between Yeerongpilly and Banoon stations; Beenleigh/Gold Coast trains using the Tennyson line from south cannot be used.

Can confirm it appears on NextThere as well with run codes starting with X, meaning NGR with ETCS equipment.

No they can’t. There is no way this opens before 2028 given the level of testing and works still needed.

What are the chances that the opening gets delayed to 2030?

I would not be surprised considering how long they took to test ETCS on the Shorncliffe line.

This photo is a bit too much in focus, can this be blurred a little bit?

Anyway, what did the PIDs say during the testing?

Is Boggo Road and Roma Street floodable as well? I find it interesting that only Albert Street has it?
Looks very nice down there though, can’t wait for it to open in '29

Roma Street, Boggo Road and Woolloongabba have some limited areas that can be affected by overland flow, but no substantial flooding threat.

Albert Street on the other hand… (the “Festival Discount” building is where the station’s northern entry building is).

Went on a tour through the station on Monday and apparently they’re aiming to test the flood barrier this upcoming Monday or Tuesday night ahead of government handover later this month

Man they are taking a while to lay the upward CRR track at Mayne yard. I though they were doing a great job making progress in completing the track laying for CRR, but it’s been months and the new sleepers and rails are just laying there in piles for months.

Albert street station has new barrier to protect the station platforms from flooding.
