If they’re gonna take until 2027 just to get started with Moorooka…
I was kind of hoping that they might be running some test trains in the tunnel.
Some rail buses only have a front door (coaches).
Yeah, I get that, but these were regular urban Translink-liveried buses.
Also found out today that R586 (express Fruitgrove to City) and R583 (express Banoon to Boggo Rd) don’t operate on weekends. I guess at least the 150 still exists, although I’m not sure what would happen if 50 people got off at Fruitgrove wanting to board one.
The Translink website shows extra inbound 150s sweepers starting at Fruitgrove, presumably to address this.
Yes they do, same thing happens on the Chermside runs too, they generally monitor demand through radios and the cameras and send sweepers (roughly 1 in 6-8 buses).
It can be very frustrating for those further down the line to have many ‘sorry bus full’s’ come through, but it mostly works.
The quicker we go to ETCS2 2 the better.
Yes and no. While ETCS2 will no doubt be beneficial to the reliability of the signalling system, the last thing we need is a poorly-tested implementation that causes more issues than it fixes.
Is this what we are headed to with ETCS? Having it so poorly implemented that it is less reliable than the current legacy signalling?
Could be worse - middle of the day this would slap hard.
Wasn’t there a power failure earlier in the day as well? Wonder what’s the problem
They should have rigid catenary from Roma Street to Bowen Hills. It may cost a bit but in the long run there would be less issues I reckon. They should also get rid of the basset between those stations too and have the track bolted to concrete.
Having a look at R295 for this weekend’s closures - it’s operating to a better frequency (and also running later into the night I believe) to the actual train service it’s replacing. Seems to be all day 15 minute frequencies. Interesting
