Apologies, M1 does

Thats the only mention of it, the actual destos and onboard PIDs for both the 222 and M1 do not mention Woolloongabba

Can confirm. I’ve been on an M1 that does this particular deviation. Found out by an announcement at the busway platform, and driver announcements on board.

These gabba gameday diversions are not known at all. I knew the old 111 did it, and assumed the m1 did it going northbound. But i didn’t know about the 222 and i’ve personally never seen any metro bus on the woolongabba section. Is it both directions? But today was bad, far worse than normal I was on 100 and my driver got abused at southbank because it was full, only stopped because 1 person wanted to get off there.

I don’t understand why the city shuttle before the game don’t go via the busway and go over the CC bridge, these shuttles are often pretty empty meanwhile crowds at cultral central and south bank get really bad due to how few buses go thru there and head to the woolongabba station

They need to do a MUCH better job at promoting it - what good is a bi-articulated bus if it can’t take loads.
Guessing anyone from Shorncliffe, Gold Coast, Beenleigh and Cleveland was also on the buses today which didn’t help whatsoever

I think I’ve seen it mentioned here before but Banoon really needs more smart ticketing readers if it’s the railbus connection point. Just arrived in a railbus as the train arrived and having two directions trying to use the one reader at the bottom of the ramp is crazy.

Problems at Indooroopilly this morning.

QR FB: Customers, due to a signalling issue at Indooroopilly we are currently experiencing delays of up to 30 minutes on the Caboolture, Ipswich, Redcliffe Peninsula, Springfield, and Sunshine Coast lines.

UPDATE 7:35am: Due to a road vehicle striking a rail bridge at Chelmer, inbound services on the Ipswich and Springfield lines are running express from Taringa to Milton. Rail replacement buses are running stopping all stations from Graceville to Roma Street. Outbound services are still stopping all stations.

Delays of up to 30 minutes are still expected to impact services on the Caboolture, Ipswich, Redcliffe Peninsula, Springfield, and Sunshine Coast lines.

I’ve read this three times, and it still isn’t making any sense.

How has a bridge strike at Chelmer caused trains to run express between Taringa and Milton?

Im assuming it’s Corinda.

I am guessing but maybe to make up for lost time. Any case, it is bit of a mess.

Returned to schedule - Ipswich, Springfield, Caboolture, Redcliffe Peninsula and Sunshine Coast lines.

In lighter news, amongst all the regional service cancellations, I just received an email from QR travel saying the Gulflander is starting soon with full service.

Normanton to Croydon travellers rejoice!

There’s been hardly a word from Government or RTBU on this stoush.
I’m worried they’re either just accepting the dismal state of the rail network or we’re stuck like this til 2028

I could get used to not having a 15 minute corridor between Coopers Plains and Ferny Grove until 2028 /s

Speak of the devil, they put out a video this evening on the latest.
Sounds like progress is finally being made!

Thanks for sharing this update from the RTBU. A catchy video, sort of confirms for me that Queensland Rail has badly misfired on all of this. What rail operator would seemingly be ok with the service degradation both regional and Citytrain? Then troll everyone with the update to the Gulflander. Queensland Rail has a lot to do.

Weird if it’s running from Central to Exhibition - weirder still that they’re using the platform with a lack of accessibility with the upgrades at it.

And what rollingstock do we have to run this loop? A single NGR?

Being a loop service it runs between:

  • Roma Street
  • Central
  • Fortitude Valley
  • Exhibition.

Strange that none of these seem to be in the Journey Planner. Far out, Translink are rubbish.
