Finally got to experience QR at its very worst.
Might be late in saying this, but as I was waiting for the Shorncliffe train after disembarking the Tilt Train, the PID kept showing that the next Shorncliffe train would arrive Roma St Station P6 in 1 minute. During that time, around 6 Airport trains passed me.
What a fun time to return to Brisbane via Tilt Train.
BUZ 100 heading southbound through Woolloongabba about 20 minutes ago with desto reading “Sorry Bus Full”. Looked busy from the roadside too.
Even on a Sunday afternoon!
Unrelated but for location, here’s a shot of the Boggo Rd CRR station superstructure rising up. Taken from PAH P2.
Speaking with a train driver around lunchtime today. Apparently there were no extra trains being put on for the footy at Suncorp Stadium
This page suggests otherwise:
Currently on ngr765 which is doing varsity Lakes- banoon all stations shuttles. Both toilets are locked and out of use. Pretty unacceptable considering how many are parking up in robins yard.
Not fun for me as my 760 from GC airport was 10 minutes late and we all had to run just to make it.
Is there anywhere to empty the toilets between Banoon and Varsity Lakes? I honestly don’t know.
Looks like three services pulled. Any notifications? I couldn’t find anything on X. ![]()
Is this normal for a school holiday interim timetable? Does QR avoid considering that people actually use the trains during school holidays, and that people actually commute to work during school holidays?
No, services should be still running during the school holidays. There are some changes with Cleveland for the past week, this week and next but it is to with line pairing. Cleveland line is paired with BNE Domestic up to 7:30pm weekdays and running 3 minutes early through Eagle Junction to Boggo Road.
But there is nothing about reduced services. I checked the journey planner for today and it is showing the regular services.
Whoa, having another look at the live Translink UP timetable it is showing the gap ??
Why no notice of the variation in the timetable? Appalling treatment of the punters (but what’s new on the Cleveland line).
^ I have asked QR to confirm the gap. It is a tad confusing to say the least, with services appearing in the journey planner but not on the live line timetable.
Response from QR:
Hi Robert, thanks for flagging this. It looks like some services are missing from the timetable on Translink’s website. The Journey Planner appears to be working normally, so we recommend using it to plan your trip this afternoon. We’ll raise this with Translink as a priority.
These are the paper timetable Cleveland line services ex Roma St.
3:20 3:35 3:50 4:05 4:20pm
They are running 3 minutes early so in theory there should be
3:17 3:32 3:47 4:02 [4:17pm Manly]
I hate to say it but seems the journey planner has a few missing as well.
I’m guessing this is a data issue caused by the unusual pairings atp with the Beenleigh/Gold Coast line possession. Regardless, it’s definitely not ideal. Hopefully they can get it sorted.
