Currently at Darra station, and its depressing seeing so many standees on both the Springfield and Ipswich lines, despite either being close or is halfway towards terminating their journeys. All seats taken even after some tens of people alighted off. I can’t imagine how crowded it would have been in the inner-city sections.
I usually avoid this carnage by transferring at Corinda or Sherwood for a quiet 104/105 bound for PA Hospital busway station. Then transfer to an M2 to the City. A 100000% easier trip on the soul. And then vice versa in the afternoons.
Ironically, the Carina TAG axles all go to sleep during the weekends, providing zero high-capacity for routes 200, 204, 209, 222, etc. All you’ll ever see are rigid buses.
So much for keeping Brisbane moving imo.
On the other hand, I’ve noticed that Willawong are deploying a handful of their artics on the weekends to do 130/140/150 mmm
This sounds most likely. I just have never seen a coach using Edenlea Dr before, but it makes sense given the works currently being undertaken on Armstrong Rd for the new Loganlea Station.
I did notice in the Deputy Premier’s reel for the Banyo housing development a few weeks ago, that he catches the train whenever he can (in this case, the Shorncliffe line).
I’m guessing its a smart public-relations move to show people that he takes public transportation and not a tax-payer funded chauffeur all the time.
