Think it has been missed.
Dual gauge track wraps around western side of Clapham Yard, please correct me if I am wrong but currently only 2 narrow gauge tracks are operational on the eastern side at the moment.
Gold Coast train operating in peak direction usually uses western side dual gauge track from my experience (both morning and evening)
If itâs rarely used then they should just fence it off
Operational flexibility is always nice. It doesnât present much of a safety risk.
Peak Gold Coast services usually do right hand running from Boggo all the way to Coopers Plains, so they use the western dual gauge pair at Clapham. One set of tracks has been laid and have been in use for quite a while now.
Itâs quite clear theyâre planning to use the Clapham section as a quad track overtaking area. If only they could do it all the way to KurabyâŚ
In my experience, when the dual gauge line is open, only the Gold Coast trains with a Beenleigh line train immediately preceding it will do right hand running. So, the departures from Central at 4:59pm (follows the 4:57pm Kuraby), 5:07pm (follows the 5:04pm Beenleigh) and 5:29pm (follows the 5:27pm Beenleigh) will do that. But the 4:44pm, 5:14pm and 5:44pm trains run on the narrow gauge track following the Beenleigh train.
This seems to be right, 5:14 train today ran on eastern side.
For anyone interested see video going past Clapham Yard I took this afternoon.
Part of the temporary roof covering the entrance into Roma Street station has been removed allowing full view of the space above.
As a result from that recent close down between Boggo Road and Coopers Plains, I have noticed they have managed to start laying the track at Platform 1 at Yeerongpilly. It looks like it will also be configured into the through line soon too.
With CRR, do we see a potential change to express services on the Cleveland line in peak as there will be more tph, reducing the need for the express to stop Murrarie-Manly and going back to the old Morningside (or even Cannon Hill)-Manly alignment
Also what will replace the existing GC/Beenleigh trains at Roma Street when they leave, as isnât it usually a line per platform
Yep, remember now, former Premier (so she couldnât care less) âAnnastacia Palaszczukâ promised you, the people of Quuueeennnsssllanddd a âGrand Central Stationâ, so letâs all get ready to see ![]()
The timetable becomes tighter the more stops are missed because the train gets closer to catching up to the all stops. The Queensland Transport people told us straight up that the main reason for the Cleveland line expresses are load management, so any changes would be for that reason, I imagine.
The timetable consideration also has to focus on providing consistent spacing in the city section. ie it would be undesirable to have the all stops come through South Brisbane only two minutes after the express, which would be required to have a faster express not catch up to the preceding all stops.
But youâd have platform three to work with for the expresses at Sth. Brisbane and South Bank and potentially Boggo Road to work with as well.
Iâm not talking about the capacity so much as having even spacing between services.
Also known as: Roma Street stationâŚ
I was chatting to a retired CRR engineer this week and he is of the opinion we will see passenger services commence in 2028 sometime unless they uncover major issues during testing and commissioning.
I think thatâs what itâs calledâŚRoma St StationâŚâŚtrains run there!
Always a great day when the CRR media crew post about Roma St. Progress (you can see signs now!)

The height of the building with all that glass seems a tadâŚ.excessive? Its a lot of empty space.
If they had of just got me involved in the project we would have 14 line rapid transit system by now.
