New way finding has been unveiled on Adelaide Street.
Slightly blurry shot, but this was the cutest bus PID outage screen I had ever seen! This was on one of Clarks’ new Custom Dennings Endeavours. Not only was the screen down, but the next stop light wasn’t staying lit either.
They must be all offline today as when I was on the 555 Southbound it had on the top right corner failed to connect to server.
I am now on the 60 Northbound which is also down.
They have the ePaper bus stops down in New Farm now
Regular commuters are excited. ![]()
The inbound stop outside Booval Fair on Brisbane Road has recently had one installed as well.
I noticed today that Wickham Street stop 226 near Gotha Street outbound now has a real time ePaper timetable. (The same type as on Adelaide Street).
Yeah saw it as well this arvo. The screen wasn’t working just yet though.
I had noticed it earlier this week, as I often take a bus to work from there, but like lott said, not working yet. I might have a look tomorrow, if I travel that way.
^^No they hadn’t turned it on yet
It’s good to see them upgraded. Those previous red dot matrix ones had had their hay day.
I wonder if they have replaced them at the international terminal as well?
If only they could update the PID UI for QR stations as well from the mid200s blocky style.
I guess they will when they move across to the new platform. @alexjago may know more when he attends the next RATLR meeting.
I hope that’s more legible in person - in this photo it’s a bit difficult to read. (Could just be that it’s taken from quite far away.)
I do like how they’ve highlighted on the P1 PID that the next service leaves from platform 2. That’s a nice touch.
Generally (and this has just occurred to me) - if we can execute well on strip maps (also seen in the photo) then we can deemphasize the big list of stations from the PID. Though I suppose at multiline stations this relies on people knowing what line they need already… hmm.
Do you think they are trialling new displays and formats, as they have does this before with the rubber gap fillers on that line before rolling them out elsewhere.
I rather the countdown ( x mins) than the departure clock time though.
This feels like it’s something Airtrain have done themselves. It wasn’t mentioned yesterday.
I agree, it comes across as an independent change.
Judging by the design, it’s definitely something made out of Airtrain’s own pocket… Which I don’t really mind.
